Glen D. Stone

Is the Owner and General Manager of Glen Stone Excavation and Trucking Ltd.  At 43 years of age, Glen has been working in the landscape, excavation and construction industry all of his adult life.  He has experienced all methods of landscape work, the operation of dump trucks, the operation of excavators, backhoes, skid steer loaders, front end loaders, compaction rollers and has extensive experience in rock breaking with hydraulic hammers.  Glen’s work experience has included employment with one of the most respected local landscape companies, self-employment operating as Glen Stone Excavating and Trucking and the incorporation of Glen Stone Excavation and Trucking Ltd. since the year 2001.  Glen directs a staff compliment of between 8-14 employees on a seasonal basis which includes commercial snow removal service during the winter.

Tracey L. Stone

Is Glen’s spouse of 11 years and is the company’s bookkeeper.  She is responsible for the daily office routine which includes administration of the company payroll system, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ledgers.  Tracey has earned a degree in Information Technology from Mount St. Vincent University which gives her the training and experience necessary to perform her bookkeeping responsibilities.

Gordon M. (Gord) Horton

Is the Operation Manager for the company and has been with the company for 6 years.  Gord’s duties include sales consultant, preparing quotations, invoice billing, scheduling jobs and setting up the company’s work schedule.  Gord is also a company safety officer performing duties under the company certification through the Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association.  Gord’s previous work experience includes 16 years of banking and over 20years of self-employment in the trucking (General Freight) industry.

Machine Operators and Truck Drivers

Glen Stone Excavation and Trucking Ltd. currently employs a good range of qualified and experienced machine operators and dump truck drivers.  Some staff is fully qualified to perform duties involving machinery, truck driving and transporting heavy equipment on company float trailers.  All staff has been trained to conduct their activities within Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
